Saying Goodbye to Lexi...

This is a hard post to write. Even though it's been almost a year now since we had to put Lexi to sleep, we all still miss her so much. She was the sweetest, smart and best trained dog. Just today, I caught myself calling Millie Lexi. She had just turned 14 years old last May, but she hadn't been doing that great for a long while. She was deaf, partly blind, had lost so much weight and all bladder control and mostly slept all day long. So, even though she is in a better place now it was extremely difficult to finally make that decision especially for the kids to understand. We did all her favorite things on her last few days with us. Got ice cream and played frisbee (for the short while that she could muster). We also took her to Paint, Glaze and Fire to get a paw print on a tile and did some paintings in honor of her. She was such a special dog and gave us so many memories for 14 years!
